1、 on用来指当做时间段看待的一天：on Monday、on Dec.5 、on National Day、on the following day等。总之，时间短语里包含有day这个词，前面必用on。又如：on one's birthday、on the holidays等。
2、in用来指时间段，这一段时间少则一个小时、一个上午、一个星期、多则一个月、一年、甚至一个世纪：in an hour、in the morning、in a week、in September、 in 2010 、in the 1990s
3、当时间短于一天时，
1）in + the+ 特定时段：共morning; afternoon; evening (表泛指，即不表示特定的哪个morning等）；
2）at +特定时段（作为时间点考虑的昼夜某时刻，如：dawn、daybreak、sunrise、midnight、noon、dusk、sunup、 sunset、sundown、 night）和确切的钟点（如：9：00am 、14：00pm）；
3) on + 限定词+ 特定时段，如：on a cold night、on Sunday morning/afternoon/evening 4、 a hot month, a cool season长于一天了，所以应该用in。
