The United States of America, also known as U.S.A is located in North America which is right opposite from China. The land area of the contiguous United States is approximately 1.9 billion acres (770 million hectares). The U.S.A includes a total of 50 states, with Washington DC and lots of territories across the world in the Pacific and Atlantic coast. To the north of the country, it connects to Canada with one of the Great Lake, and to the south, it also shares a border with Mexico around Texas. Within the states, Hawaii and Alaska are the furthest, while Hawaii is near the Eastern Globe and has an area of just 4 million aces, and Alaska is connecting to Canada and has an area of approximately 365 million aces. The United States is the world's third OR fourth largest nation by total area (land and water), ranking behind Russia and Canada and just above or below China depending on how to calculate its area. Including only land area, the United States is third in size behind Russia and China, just ahead of Canada.
