这两个词我初中就研究透了，毕竟当时的班主任是英语老师，真的会一个词一个词的给我们抠细节，所以我高中大学英语成绩都很好。
下面说一下这两个词的用法区别：
both和all都有“都”的意思，但用法却不尽相同。
both是两者都，all是三者及三者以上都。
单词含义：
both：英式发音 [bəʊθ] 美式发音 [boʊθ]
意思是：两...（都）,两个...（都）；两者（都）;两个（都）;双方（都）
all： 英式发音 [ɔːl] 美式发音 [ɔːl]
意思是：所有;全部;全体;一切;全部的，整个的。
用法区别：
一、both表示“两者都”“全部”的意思,其反义词为neither。 如:
My parents both like Beijing Opera. 我的父母都喜欢京剧。
Both of us want to go. 我们两人都想去。
Both of us want to go. 我们两人都想去。
Neither of us is a doctor. 我们俩都不是医生。(全部否定)
二、all表示“三者或三者以上都“,反义词为neither。 如:
Bill is the tallest of all the boys. 比尔是所有男孩中最高的。
All of us should work hard. 我们都应努力工作。
All of the books are not helpful. 并非所有这些书都对人有帮助。(部分否定)
三、both和ll都可直接修饰名词;名词前如有限定词时,其前只能用both of或all of。如:
Both brothers are clever. 兄弟俩都聪明。
Both of the books are useful. 两本书都有用。
四、both和all在句中的位置是位于be动词之后、行为动词之前，如有情态动词或助动词,则位于情态动词或助动词与主动词之间。如:
We are all here. 我们都来了。
both和all词语搭配：

3) both the two 两者;并
2、all
1) at all (否定句)根本;究竟
2) after a11 毕竟;终究
3) above all 首先;尤其是
"Both" 只能用于指称两个事物的情况，例如：Both Sarah and Tom are coming to the party.（Sarah和Tom都要来参加聚会。）"Both" 通常用来强调只有两个事物，同时也可以用来形成对比，例如：Both Sarah and Tom are tall, but Tom is taller than Sarah.（Sarah和Tom都很高，但是Tom比Sarah更高。）
"All" 可以用于指称三个或以上的事物，例如：All the students in the class passed the exam. （班上所有学生都通过了考试。）"All" 也可以用来表示完全不同的事物的总合，例如：All the books in the library are organized by category.（图书馆的所有书都按类别归档。）"All" 通常用来强调总体的概念，而不是仅仅强调某一部分。
