vocabulary和word的区别如下：
一，意思不同
vocabulary，/vəˈkæbjələri/，n.（某人掌握或使用的）全部词汇；（某一语言的）词汇；
例如：
Reading will enlarge your vocabulary.
阅读能扩大词汇量。
Reading will increase your vocabulary.
阅读会增加你的词汇量。
A child's vocabulary expands through reading.
孩子的词汇量通过阅读得到扩大。
2. word，/wɜːd/ n.字，词，单词；（某人说的）话，言语（words）；简短的交谈，谈话；命令，指示；消息，信息；诺言，承诺；
v.措辞，用词
例如：
What's the meaning of this word?
这个单词的意思是什么？
The first word begins with an F.
第一个词以F开头。
It looks like a made-up word.
这看起来像是一个杜撰的词。
二，修饰语不同
1. vocabulary，因为是词汇的总量，所以不能用表示多少的词修饰，但是可以用big、small、large等词修饰；例如：
We should have a good command of large vocabulary.
我们应该掌握大量词汇。
He commands a large vocabulary.
他掌握大量词汇。
Slow reading is mainly caused by small vocabulary, poor mastery of grammar and lack of reading skills.
阅读速度慢主要是词汇量小、语法知识不扎实、阅读技能差等因素造成的。
2. word，表示单词的意思的时候，是一个个单词，完全可以用many、few、a few、a lot of等修饰可数名词的量词修饰；例如：
I tried to offer a few words of comfort.
我试图说上几句安慰的话。
He didn't approve of the plan and said so in as many words.
他明确地说他不同意这计划。
Less is almost always better when it comes to the number of words on a page.
就一页上的字数要求而言，几乎总是越少越好的。
三，指代不同
1. vocabulary指的是单词的总量，是一个集体的词汇，不能说一个vocabulary，但是可以指有多少单词的一个词汇量；
2. word，指单词的意思，就是可数名词，指代一个单词，前面可以用数量词和基数词修饰；还可以是不可数名词，指语言、承诺、消息，还可以是动词。
