Monumental production invites you to a performance by the David Starr Band at the New Jersey Stadium on July 14-16. The concerts mark the start of the band’s first North American tour for five years. The tour, which ends on September 10, will take the band to 30 places between the east and west coasts of the USA.
One of the finest talents to come out of the New Jersey music scene of the 1990s, keyboard player David Starr has been touring the world almost continuously since 1995, both as a solo artist and with his band. For the last three months, Starr has been touring Asia, performing sell-out concerts in China, Japan, Thailand and Singapore.
The band play a mixture of rock and jazz, with influences from Latin music and even some Caribbean Reggae. Described by Music Now magazine as “ the most influential band on the east coast in the 1990s”, the band have recorded seven albums, the latest of which, Which Way Is Paradise? reached Number 7 last year.
For the concerts on the North American leg of the tour, Starr will be joined on stage by singer Maddy Patrick and his long-standing music collaborator(合作者) Earl Brewer on guitar. Also in the band are Brazilian percussionist (打击乐乐师) Gilberto Pessoa and bass player Chico Brown, who was formerly with the Miami rock band, Peacetime. Making their debut (初次登台) as backing singers will be Starr’s wife Evelyn and her sister Gloria Stein.
It has been five years since David Starr’s last concert at the New Jersey Stadium and it was a sell-out, so we advise you to order your tickets as soon as you can. Ticket prices start at 30 dollars and are available online or from the Stadium Bo Office. Please get your orders in early as tickets are going fast!
