1)What can I do for the 2010 Shanghai World Expo?
We all know that the Expo 2010 will be held in Shanghai. Being citizens of Shanghai, we fell proud and responsible. It is said there will be 7,000 visitors from different countries coming to Shanghai. What can I do for the Expo 2010 at that time?
There is no doubt that I will be a volunteer to give services to the Expo 2010. I am good at English and I can communicate fluently with foreign guests. I must study English even harder so that I can introduce to them in English the rapid development of Shanghai and I can also help them. I can make them feel at home in Shanghai, such as showing them the way to their hotels or to the places of interest in Shanghai.
In a word, I will keep in mind the theme of the Expo 2010 “Better City, Better Life” and do my best for the great festival.
2)I like Christmas. It is just like our Spring Festival.
Maybe the Spring Festival is much more important and interesting than Christmas, but I like Christmas Day better, because we can spend time with our parents, friends and classmates during Christmas.
On Christmas Day, shops are red and green. There are so many Christmas cards, Christmas hats, Christmas dolls and many colorful things. We can give a card or a doll to our friends and say “Merry Christmas.” Family members will gather together at home and have a big dinner. Parents will also give us some presents and they hope that we will make progress in the coming new year.
Christmas is coming; it also means a new year will come. Let’s study harder to welcome the new year!
3)I’m a student of Grade 4 in a vocational school. I’ll graduate in July and go to university. How I hope I will be a college student! And I hope I can study the major which I like best. But I know I must study very hard now, and this is the only way to success.
What shall I do in future? My wish is to be a school teacher. I have had this dream since I was only a child. Nowadays, there are few people who want to be teachers because teachers can’t get high pay but they must work hard. No matter what others think, I’ve made up my mind to devote all my life to the cause of education. I will try my best to realize my dream when I graduate. And I will do my best to thank what my mother school and my teachers have done for me.
4)Dear Miss XXX,
I will graduate from our vocational school soon. I would like to thank you for all the help you have given me during the 4 years. You were always so patient when I asked you questions. You listened to them carefully and explained everything so thoroughly. You showed me different ways to practice and remember new words and usage. I felt so encouraged and became more comfortable in speaking English. You made the exercises so interesting that I was always very eager to participate and practice. My English has improved so much. How could I thank you enough! I will be a hard-working student.
Sincerely yours,
XXX
