In the picture, two models are clearly demonstrated, showing us how the ocean conditions amazingly changed during nearly a century’s time. In the first picture, the ship is sailing calmly on the sea while schools of fish are swimming in the sea. In the second picture, the situation sharply swerves, with only one fish left in the sea, the surface of the sea has been swarmed with ships.
For almost a century, the world’s population has been on and on swelling and the rising living standards, people’s demand for the seafood is going up. Tremendous over fishing has been done all around the oceans, which caused the marine creatures end up with extinction. And the modern fishing techniques hasten the speed of the marine life’s decrease. So the drawer expresses his mind in a sarcastic way by showing us the second picture, suggesting that if man continues in this way, the oceans will be empty ultimately.
To keep the sea in an ecological balance is our common wish. So feasible measures must be taken all over the world. Firstly, over fishing should be prohibited. Secondly, we must pay more attention on those endangered sea species. Thirdly, some over-exploitation should be simultaneously banned to keep the ocean from being polluted. The earth is our homeland, which is partly made up by the oceans, to love and to protect the oceans is undoubtedly benefiting ourselves
