Visual Basic is an object-oriented programming language, which is easy to understand, convenient to operate, simple and practical to be used to write some applet for measurement. In this paper, the methods to calculate the coordinates of the road curve are introduced first. And then, broadening coefficients when taking widening the road into consider and how to widen the road are introduced. Then a mathematical model based on these formulas is built, and a program is designed by VB to calculate the lofting coordinates when considering widening the road. Meanwhile, the advantages and disadvantages of the problems are analyzed and presented in this paper.

This paper first introduced the highway curve segment coordinate calculation method, and then introduced the road in consideration of the need when applied to widen widened parameters and how to realize the road widening, and according to the calculation formula established the mathematical model, using VB design consideration when road widening lofting coordinate calculation program.
