Generally speaking american english is different from british english mainly in pronunciation and spelling.For example.when a learner hears the pronunciation /h:3e/ in fact,he knows it means the world,"lei sure" but in brition, he must prmance it /'le3e/. As for the spelling differences.I can give you an example.The Amenion world ,"color" is often spelled as "colour" in brition. You can easily find the differences when you use a computer.The spelling check on your computer shows American spelling .There are also some differences in some expressions.For example,you fill in a form in Britain,but fill out a form in the U.S.A.;Americans take the subway while British people take the underground.
