(e) At all times when the Goods or packagesare in the custody of the above mentioned participating domestic, or foreignCarries, such Carries shall be entitled to all the right defenses exceptionsfrom or limitation of liability and immunities of whatsoever nature referred toor incorporated herein applicable or granted to the Carrier as herein definedto the full extent permitted to such domestic and foreign Carrier under theBill(s) of Lading tariffs and any other laws applicable or relating thereto,provided however, that nothing contained in this Bill of Lading shall be deemeda surrender by theses domestic or foreign Carriers of any of their rights andimmunities or any increase of any of their limitations of and exonerations fromliability under their said Bills(s) of Lading, tariffs or law applicable orrelating to said carriage.
(f) In making any arrangements fortransportation by participating domestic of foreign Carrier of the Goods orpackages carried hereunder either before or after ocean carriage, it isunderstood and agree that the ocean Carrier acts solely as agents of themerchants, without any other responsibility whatsoever, and it assumes noresponsibility as Carrier for such domestic of foreign transportation.
