《Yesterday》1965
这首歌的灵感来自麦卡特尼的一段梦境，但是填词是由列侬和保罗一起完成的。这首歌听起来伤感又克制，将对离去爱人的深深怀念表现得淋漓尽致。
这首歌被很多知名歌手翻唱了无数次，熟悉披头士的人都知道，披头士的歌词简单、旋律简洁，真正地做到了雅俗共赏。在乐理上，披头士在这首歌中尝试了和弦进行模式。歌词描述了一段无声无息消失的爱情，整首歌只有2分钟，但是足以打动人心。
《Norwegian Wood》1965
这首《挪威森林》是我很喜欢的一首，这首歌大部分是列侬完成的。也许很多人知道这首歌是因为村上春树《挪威的森林》小说，但其实这本小说的名字也是来自这首歌，是村上对披头士的致敬。
这首歌和这本小说一样，都是描写那些消失不见和莫名青涩的青春爱情，还夹杂着失落、一点虚无和对生活的无力之感。列侬说这是描述自己一段的一段情，甚至他自己都记忆不确到底是何时何地了。这首充满诗意和想象力的歌词带着些许神秘的味道，耐人寻味。
