wait既可以当及物动词用，由可以当
不及物动词用。例如：
I will wait you at the schoolgate.（及物动词）
I will wait for you at the schoolgate.（不及物动词）
另外，关于wait还有一个经常用到的短语：can't wait to do sth.迫不及待的去做某事。
如：I can't wait to see her.
wait一般用作不及物动词，与某动作发生“迟”、“早”或“耽误”有关，意为“等；等候”。现就其用法简述如下：
一、wait可单独使用。例如：
Wait till the bus stops before getting off．等公共汽车停了再下车。
I can wait if you can't get there on time．如果你不能按时到这里，我可以等。
二、wait后接表示所等的人、物的名词或代词时，应与介词for连用。例如：
