2、有效课堂教学模式的探究
教学模式是人们对教学过程的或然性特征的简化形式。有效教学模式兼容以下三种特征：一是促使学习者积极地参与教学过程，强调教学过程的有效性；二是遵循明晰的教学步骤、程序，强调教学过程的可操作性；三是以关于学习、行为和思维等理论为指导，强调教学过程的理论性、先进性。教学模式是教学方法的上位概念。教学模式是由教学理论通向教学实践的桥梁。教学模式既有理论基础，又有可操作的程序，还能保证学生积极参与教学过程。
美国的乔以斯和韦尔所合著的《教学模式》一书就曾介绍了十多种教学模式。按不同类型又可分为四大类。它们是：①信息加工模式，着眼于知识的获得和发展；②个性模式，着眼于人的潜力和整个人格的发展；③社会交往模式，着眼于社会性品格的发展；④行为模式，着眼于学生行为习惯的控制和培养。
素质教育是教育改革和发展的趋势,也是社会进步、民族素质提高的必然要求。素质教育的提出和全面实施对作为基础学科之一的英语教学产生了重要的影响。那么,英语教学如何适应形势发展需要,以切实推动素质教育在基础教育领域的开展?笔者认为,首先须从改革课堂教学入手,课堂教学是实施素质教育的主渠道,应努力使其得到真正的优化。素质教育呼唤高质量的课堂教学,我们通过改革课堂教学,对其中的各个环节进行优化,进而改变“应试教育”所带来的种种弊端,这是发展素质教育的要求,也是提高英语教学效益的重要途径。

In my opinion, we need to start from classroom teaching reform. Classroom teaching is the main channel for the implementation of quality education, it really should make efforts to optimize.
