Being connected making the world bigger or smaller?
Everyday, millions of people are using QQ, MSN or other Internet service to chat. There's no denying that online communication has made people more connected than ever before, seemingly making the world smaller than before. Before the internet, people usually chat via phones. It was not convenient, because you cannot chat with several people at the identical time. Beside, sometimes you even can't get through. After the invention of camera system,people can see each other while chatting, this makes the online communication more enjoyable.
As far as I am concerned, the positive side of this trend is generally parallel with its negative side.Today's society has a larger variety of methods of communication than ever before. While that's led to a dramatic increase in the speed and quantity of interpersonal communication, it can also lead to more misinterpretation and other negative effects. Many people are so addicted to the internet world that they are far away from the real life. For instance, insteading of face-talking or meeting in person during the spare time, many people may just talk online or send online messages, which may reduce interpersonal real communication. The world may seem even bigger than before.
In brief, we should let the world both more connected and real through high-tech ways.
