瓦尔兹娜·摩尔特（ValzhynaMort,1981-），出生于贝拉鲁斯（俄罗斯、乌克兰、波兰、立陶宛交界处），目前欧美最热门青年诗人之一，在斯洛文尼亚、波兰、德国、美国均获过奖，2008年在美国出版了第一本贝英双语诗集，由普利策诗歌奖获得者弗朗兹·莱特夫妇联手与她自己共同翻译，好评如潮。现居美国华盛顿特区。贝拉鲁斯1991年独立，但语言上仍有被俄语同化的趋势，瓦尔兹娜移居美国，英语非常好，但坚持用小语种写作，是一种姿态，也见其思想的独立和成熟。她从音乐转向诗歌，其诗歌的节奏感和音乐性都很强，她在用英语朗诵时还喜欢强调谐音，比如pitch（音调），bitch（母狗）。作为一个80年代出生的青年诗人，她也许在文本建构上还欠火候，但语言之犀利，思考之尖锐，语调之诙谐，都超出同代诗人。（注：本译者强烈反对把贝拉鲁斯译为"白俄罗斯"。）
