My daughter Tina took her teddy bear everywhere with her.If there was anything she loved to do ,it was to draw teddy bears.
Her cousin Mike broke his leg in an accident,so we went to the hospital to visit him. This was Tina's first time seeing so many sick children. She went to a little boy and gave her teddy bear to him,but the nurse said it might be dirty and bad for sick children.
After we went to the park to meet other children.Soon I noticed Tina helding one of her drawings and talking to a group of children.I heard her asking them to draw as many teddy bears as they could and bring them there the next week.
On the following Tuesday,we were in the park again. When I was talking with others,Tina came to me with lots of drawings in her hands.
"OK,Mon!Now we can go!"
"Go?Where,honey?"
I looked at a few of the drawings. There were many different teddy bears, all with words like "Get well together!"on them.I thought I understood.
"Are these all for Mike?"
"No,Mommy! These are all the children in the hospital, those who cannot have real teddy bears.A teddy bear drawing is still a teddy bear! And every kid needs a teddy bear!"
